Why to visit The Five Faced Hanuman Temple
Panchamukhi Hanuman Temple, also known as the five-faced Hanuman Temple, is located 2 kilometres from Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple. Lord Hanuman is honoured in this temple. The 'floating stones' that have been kept at the temple for the devotees to see are another major attraction of this temple. These floating stones were used to construct the Sethu Bandhanam floating bridge from Rameshwaram to Lanka, allowing Lord Rama, Lord Lakshman, and others to travel to Lanka to rescue Goddess Sita and put an end to the demon Ravana's atrocities.
It Is Well-Known For:
1) The Five-Faced Hanuman Temple is famous for its alluring idol of Lord Hanuman with five faces. Lord Hanuman's face is in the centre, with Lord Narasimha, Lord Adivaraha, Lord Garuda, and Lord Hayagriva's faces on the sides.
2) Ram Navami, Deepawali, Hanuman Jayanti, and other major festivals are celebrated here with zeal.
3) This temple also contains the floating stones used in the construction of the Rama Setu, the bridge that linked Rameswaram to Sri Lanka.
