Why to visit Pushkar Camel Fair

It is a large annual festival that includes fun activities, an exhibition of Rajasthani culture, and, of course, shopping. This fair has a lot to acquire traditional stuff including leather goods, colourful clothing, jewellery, little souvenirs, and so on.

The camel races are undoubtedly the centrepiece, but the humorous beauty contests with camels that have been lavishly ornamented and shaved are also entertaining. Camels are dressed up, paraded, shaved, entered in beauty pageants, raced, forced to dance, and exchanged. The public is entertained by musicians, magicians, dancers, acrobats, snake charmers, and carousel rides during a large carnival. Temple dance, folk and fusion music concerts, spiritual and heritage excursions, an adventure zone, and an arts and crafts bazaar are among the activities on offer.

Special Tip

I would highly recommend to join Vedic Walks on their Pushkar Fair walking tour. It runs twice a day during the fair, morning and evening. However, Don't miss the evocative evening maha aarti (grand devotional ritual that uses fire/light as an offering) ceremony held alongside Pushkar Lake.
