Why to visit Vellarimala
Kozhikode's Vellarimala is a well-known tourist resort. Because of the spectacular view from this mountain, it is highly renowned for trekking. The mountains contain beautiful flora and fauna that is comparable to that of the nearby Nilgiri Hills and are encircled by a thick forest. All the way up, one can witness the thundering waterfalls, singing nature.
The trip begins in the Muthappanpuzha village, which is 50 kilometres from Kozhikode in the Anakkampoyil town area. It is best to engage a guide when trekking because Vellarimala is the most difficult mountain to climb in south India. For the trek, prior approval from the forest department is required. You can choose one of the local guides or you can have a consultant from the forest department.
All seasons of the year can be spent there. Post-monsoon is the best time to visit because the entire mountain range will be alive with its lush green forest and sparkling boulders. It takes about 8 hours to reach the peak, which is both time-consuming and physically taxing. To get the most out of this location, it is essential to stay for at least two to three hours.
