Why to visit Thottada Beach
The beach is in the little community of Thottada. It's a beautiful place to swim and sunbathe. You could even spend the night in one of the seaside guest cottages if you so desire. The Thottada River runs onto one end of the beach, creating a beautiful view. A dam/bund was built across the river three decades ago to keep the fresh water separate from the saline water. Away from the shore, the river forms marshes, which provide a fantastic home for a variety of birds and fish. Make some of the most romantic memories of your life by strolling along the clean sandy beaches with your lover.
Special Tip
Bring your own picnic lunch because the beach is not commercial (the lack of shops is the most charming aspect of this beach), making it a great all-day getaway.
