Why to visit Nagarjuna Sagar Dam

Nagarjunasagar Dam, erected across the Krishna River in Nalgonda District, is the world's largest masonry dam, with 26 gates measuring 14 metres in height and 13 metres in width. The dam has an irrigation capacity of 10 acres and a storage capacity of about 11,472 million cubic metres. The dam is 150 metres tall and 16 kilometres long, and it is a popular tourist destination. It's one of the earliest irrigation projects the Indian government launched as part of the Green Revolution.
