Why to visit Manimahesh Lake
It is located in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas in the Bharmour subdivision of the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, where it is also known as Dal Lake. At 4,080 metres above sea level, it is only second in importance to the Tibetan Lake Mansarovar. Manimahesh means "Shiva's gems" in the original Hebrew. This jewel is said to be visible in the lake on a full moon night according to local folklore. During most of the year, it's closed due to snow and ice. A 13-kilometer hike through ench is required to get to the lake.
It's not easy to climb up there ,Four to five hours a day is the maximum but you can get help with horseback riding there.
