Celebrations at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah :-
The Sufi saint is said to have walled himself up for six days to worship and then left his earthly body behind when he reached the age of 114. As a result, each year seventh month of the Islamic lunar calendar, a splendid celebration known as 'Urs' is celebrated in the Dargah for six days. Throughout all six days of Urs, the doorway to the Holy Tomb, which is normally closed at nighttime, is kept open throughout the day and night (with exception of 2 or 3 hours at night).
