Why to visit Sardar Patel Museum
This museum, also called Sardar Sangrahalaya, was founded in 1889. It has artefacts that illustrate Surat's lengthy history and diverse ethnic population. The main draws of this museum are the light and laser display, 3D effects, and permanent setups.
For easy understanding, all of the information displays are available here in three separate languages: English, Marathi, and Hindi. The performances here demonstrate a flawless integration of laser projection, voice narration, sound effects, and 3D mapping projection techniques.
Traditional fabrics, metalware, woodcarvings, porcelain artefacts, literature, and precious stones are a few of the intriguing exhibits one can find. The national flag, which was created by the Indian National Congress between 1930 and 1931, is one of the main draws of the Sardar Patel National Memorial Museum.
The façade of the museum is a lush green garden with lovely water features that draw wildlife like monkeys and peacocks. It also functions as a research hub. A nearby planetarium that presents a Gujarati-language exhibition on the universe is also worthwhile.
Following its construction between 1618 and 1622 for Shah Jahan, the Mughal Emperor. Later, the structure served as a British cantonment for the senior officers. The Hungry Stones, a narrative by the great Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore, was inspired by his stay here in 1878.
