In the family, both men and women have diverse roles to play. The ladies are in charge of the embroidery and wool spinning, while the males are in charge of the heavy handlooms. Dyers are brought in at a later time. These dyers hand-dye the shawls with organic colours. The shawls are then sent to the craftspeople for embroidery, where they use needles of various sizes to make patterns and designs.
