The Hazratbal Shrine, located on the banks of the Dal Lake in Srinagar, is Kashmir's holiest Muslim shrine and mosque. A relic known as Moi-e-Muqqadas, believed to be a sacred hair from Prophet Muhammad's beard, is housed in the silvery-white mosque. Only on rare occasions is the hair shown to the broader public.
