The Chinese Fishing Nets, also known as Cheenavala, are one of Kerala's most iconic and popular attractions, located near to Fort Kochi. The site, which is one of Kerala's most important cultural emblems, is also one of the most photographed in the city, attracting hundreds of tourists and photographers on a daily basis. Chinese fishing nets are large fishing nets that are attached to bamboo or teak poles. They are then lowered into the sea using special gears and a hefty load of huge stones linked to ropes
