Why to visit Jaswant Thada

The Jaswant Thada, a magnificent marble cenotaph monument that also serves as a mausoleum for the Marwar rulers, is located in the royal state of Jodhpur. In 1899, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II's son Maharaja Sardar Singh created a memorial in his honour and memory, which is now utilised as a cremation place by the Marwar Royal Family. The elegant structure is built of elaborately carved marble, which contrasts vividly with the crimson steps that lead up to the entryway. The Jaswant Thada in Jodhpur is regarded as an architectural landmark that everyone should see.

Special Tip

Local musicians and folk dancers entertain the visitors on the steps going up to the monument.
