Why to visit Nageshwar Jyotirlinga
The Dwarka-based Nageshwar Temple is one of India's 12 Jyotirlingas. It is situated on the coast of Saurashtra, Gujarat, between Gomati Dwarka and Bait Dwarka Island. Lord Shiva, also known as Nageshwar Mahadev, is the principal deity at this temple, which is also known as Nagnath Temple. Those who pray at the Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, according to the Shiva Purana, are free of all poisons, snake bites, and worldly attractions.
The significance of Nageshwar Jyotirlinga originates from the fact that it is considered the first of India's 12 Jyotirlingas. The temple is built in the Sayanam (sleeping) posture of the human body, according to Vaastu Shastra principles. The Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple has great celebrations during the Maha Shivaratri festival, attracting worshippers from all over the world.
Unlike other Nageshwar Temples, this one has the statue or Linga facing south. The huge 80-foot-tall statue of Lord Shiva is a main attraction at Nageshwar Temple. The temple's architecture is typical of Hindu architecture. The Nageshwar Shiva Linga is made of Dwarka Shila, a type of stone.
