Why to visit St. Andrew Church in Darjeeling

St. Andrew's Church was constructed during the colonial period and has an old-world elegance that draws visitors all year. The structure was built on November 30, 1843, and is named for a Scottish patron saint. After a severe earthquake struck the area in 1873, it was repaired. Since then, it has become a favourite of all visitors. This historic Anglican church is situated in the middle of a shopping mall, attracting both locals and tourists. If you are visiting the Church, it is recommended that you dress modestly because the local Scottish people are very protective of the Church's hallowed area.

Special Tip

If you forget to bring candles, you can get them from the teeny-tiny stores outside the church gate.
