Why to visit Ghum Monastery

At a height of almost 8,000 feet, it is the highest point in the area. Monastery of Ghoom ,also known as Yiga Choeling and was founded in 1850 by Lama Sherab Gyatso. It is Darjeeling's oldest Tibet Monastery. The statue of Maitreya Buddha, which stands 15 feet tall in the Monastery's main hall, is its most famous feature. Due to its extensive collection of ancient Buddhist scriptures and records, it is also one of Darjeeling's most popular tourist destinations. The Monastery's walls are also lovely, with pictures of Buddhism knowledge and Tibetan art painted on them. On the hilltop, there is also a Ma Kali temple, which is frequently frequented by individuals who come to offer prayers and to seek blessings.

It costs INR 10 to carry the camera, and INR 50 to record a short movie.
