Why to visit Happy Valley Tea Estate

The Happy Valley Tea Estate in Darjeeling is the second oldest tea estate in the tea-rich town of Darjeeling, and its origins are closely linked to the history of cultivating and producing the world-famous Darjeeling Tea. It is located at a magical altitude of 6,800 feet. The elegant splendour of the place, surrounded by hundreds of acres of Tea Gardens, hypnotic weather, open clouds, and wonderful Aroma of high-quality tea being grown, would make it impossible for nature lovers to leave the place even after spending hours there. The adoption of organic and biodynamic farming practises demonstrates respect for nature in this lush wonderland. A guided tour of the fragrance factory is available, where visitors can watch how fresh tea leaves are withered, rolled, fermented, dried, sorted, and finally graded to produce the various sorts of tea available on the market.

Special Tip

Between March and November is the optimum time to visit this estate. Tea plucking does not take place during the winter months, hence the tea factory is closed from November to February.
