Why to visit The Pondicherry Botanical Garden
This lush green garden, which spans 22 acres, was created by French colonists who collected exotic plant species from all over the world and maintained them here. The garden now has 1500 plant species, with signs indicating the species' identities as well as their common names. Additional details, such as the tree's functions, the amount of oxygen it produces, and its therapeutic worth, set it apart from other Pondicherry tourist attractions. Aquarium is fascinating place to visit since they house a vast range of aquatic animals and fish plants. The many ways of fishing used in coastal locations are also displayed here. The French architecture is evident in the garden's main entrance.
Special Tip
The botanical garden is free for children under the age of 12, but it costs Rs 20 for adults.
