Why to visit Le Georges
With waiters rushing at over 100mph, don't be surprised if you're bypassed twice or even three times before being seated. And when you do get there, be prepared to be squeezed in like sardines among the swarms of other tourists and selfie sticks. The Georges restaurant with its rooftop, located on the museum's last floor, remains the best place to spend moments under the Parisian sky, with a stunning and panoramic view of the capital and its most important monuments.
After seeing David Hockey's wonderful exhibition at the Pompidou Centre, it may seem like a good choice to end your evening at Le Georges, the restaurant on the Pompidou's very top floor. The vista isn't the only draw: the eccentric industrial-chic interior designed by Dominique Jacob and Brendan McFarlane would go right in with Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. It's difficult to comprehend the disaster that will ensue if you do decide to go up.
