Why to visit Shashur Gompa
Shashur or Sashur Monastery is a Drugpa Buddhist monastery in Lahaul and Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, India. It's 137 kilometres from Manali. In the local dialect, Sha-shur means "blue pines," referring to the patches of blue pine that can be seen around the monastery.

- The monastery was built in the 17th century by Lama Deva Gyatsho of Zanskar, a missionary of Bhutan's King Nawang Namgyal.

How to reach?
Shashur Gompa is a 3 km uphill walk from Keylong's main road. However, you can also use the recently constructed 5 km long motorable road.
