Why to visit Bindu Sarover
Bindu Sarover is a holy lake and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Bhubaneshwar, situated to the north of the famed Lingaraj temple. It is now a popular destination for citizens and visitors seeking observation and leisure. This water feature, which occurs to be the largest in Bhubaneshwar, is marked by the sarover, which is entwined around the artistic splendour of various temples and shrines.
It comprises of a small island in the centre of which are various shrines. The tank is surrounded on all four sides by embankments. Ananta Vasudeva's temple is located on the eastern embankment across the road, while Mohini Temple is located on the southern embankment, Markandeswara Temple is located on the south-eastern embankment, and Uttaresvara Temple is located on the northern embankment.

According to folklore, the lake was formed by the holy water brought by Lord Shiva to Goddess Parvati to whet her thirst. As a result, a bath in the waters of this lake can cleanse an individual of their sins and sicknesses. The lake, which is 1300 feet long and 700 feet wide, is known as the Ocean Drop Tank in modern parlance. The god from Lingaraja temple is taken to this lake for a bathe during the yearly chariot festival.
