Our Unforgettable 4-Day Romantic Vacation to Shimla and Kufri

Before I say anything else, let me share that we stumbled upon some seriously unique and exclusively arranged places for delicious meals throughout our vacation, and all thanks to a local travel expert, Sandeep Singh, who we met on Connecting Traveller. Moving on…

We kicked off our adventure by arriving in Shimla and checking into The Oberoi Cecil. This hotel is a delightful mix of colonial architecture and modern comforts. The view from our room? Absolutely breathtaking. Mountains stretched as far as the eye could see.

Our first stop was Christ Church, a stunning neo-gothic church surrounded by beautiful scenery. The stained glass windows were mesmerizing and they were casting colorful patterns in the sunlight. It felt like stepping into a painting and all for real!!

Next, we took a leisurely walk along Mall Road. This busy and vibrant street was full of shops and cafes. It was perfect for picking up souvenirs and trying local snacks, and my goodness, we had almost all of them!! And lastly, we ended our day with a delicious dinner at 45 The Central. The cozy ambiance and fantastic food made it the perfect end to our first day, and I am sooo thankful to our local travel expert, Sandeep, who guided us to this fabulous diner on-call.

On our second day, we started with a visit to the Viceregal Lodge. This historical building, as the guide told us, was once the residence of the British Viceroy. It was marvelous and surrounded by gorgeous gardens. Honestly, walking through its halls felt like stepping back in time. Then, we explored the Shimla Reserve Forest Sanctuary. This sanctuary is meant for nature lovers, with greenery and wildlife. We spotted several species of birds and even a few deer. It was like being in a nature documentary like Nat Geo coming to life.

Earlier, for lunch, we stopped at The EBR Cafe Shimla, and this cozy spot served delicious food and was a perfect mid-day break. Later, we had our dinner at Eighteen71 Cookhouse & Bar, which was another highlight of the day. The mix of Indian and Oriental dishes was simply yumm...

Day three took us on a magical drive to Kufri through deodar forests. Our first stop was Kufri Fun World, where we experienced the thrill of the world's highest go-kart track. It was exhilarating, and the views were incredible!!! Whatever I will say will fall short of the words to express our experience there.

Later, at Himalayan Nature Park, we saw a variety of animals, including the majestic brown bear. The park’s natural beauty and the chance to see these animals up close were unforgettable and equally exciting. After everything, in Chail, we visited the World's Highest Cricket Ground, which was surrounded by pine forests. It was an extraordinary experience. We wrapped up our day with a wonderful dinner at Goofa Ashiana Restaurant.

On our last day, we visited Naldehra, known for its sophisticated golf course. We took a walk around the course, soaking in the peaceful environment and views. It was the perfect way to end our trip.

Reluctantly, we checked out from The Oberoi Cecil and began our journey back to Delhi. Shimla and Kufri gave us the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. Every place we visited left a lasting impression.

If you’re planning a getaway, I highly recommend this itinerary for a truly memorable experience, and please…do get in touch with Connecting Traveller for your very own hand-picked vacation!
