How to reach: It is situated at a distance of 122 km from Delhi which is a 2–3-hour drive. Otherwise, you can go to Alwar Railway station, from there Neemrana is just 71 km away.

Best time to visit: This area is situated in North India so it’s better to visit there in winter i.e., September to March.

Details: Neemrana is a town that lies in the middle of the Delhi-Jaipur highway about 122 km away from Delhi, easy for one day outing from Delhi. It is situated in the Alwar district of Rajasthan and the ruling family of this place is in direct connection with a great Ruler Prithvi Raj Chauhan.

Best time to visit: Avoid summers because it is too hot. The best time to visit is September to March and the timings for the fort is 6 AM – 6 PM.

First one is because of a Sage who gave instructions that may house being built in the fort shouldn’t be taller than his own house and any shadow of a house shouldn’t fall upon his own house, if this happens then the whole fort will be destroyed.

Another case is of a wizard who knows Black magic and fell in love with the Princess Ratnavati. He changed the scent which Ratnavati buys with the Love potion, but she knew about this, she threw that potion onto a rock which rolled up to that wizard and killed him. Before getting killed, he cursed the city that the whole place is going to destroy soon.

How to reach: It is only 60km away from Delhi which is like a 2-hour drive and there are many buses which you can take.

Best time to visit: The suitable time is from August to February so that you can spot many species of birds here.

Details: Damdama lake was situated in the Gurgaon district of Haryana which was originally created by the Britishers for the usage of rainwater harvesting. It is a bang on spot for a weekend trip, corporate group trip, or adventurous trip and easy to make a one-day trip from Delhi as it is only 60km away from Delhi which is like a 2-hour drive. You can easily reach here and enjoy it with your friends or maybe come with your family for a picnic near the water.

Damdama Lake is located near the Aravalli range which gives it a background and enhances the beauty of this place. If you want to do boating then it is also possible here and if you want to test your strength and do some adventure then you can also try yourself in rock climbing on the massive rocks of the Aravalli range.

How to reach: It is about 270 km far from Delhi which can be covered in 6 hour’s drive. Another option is to reach Chandigarh, from there Morni Hills is just an hour’s drive away.

Best time to visit: Winters is the time when you should go there to witness the alluring beauty of this place.

Morni Hills is a tourist place that exists in Panchkula District of Haryana. It is about 270 km far from Delhi which can be covered in 6 hours’ drive. How to reach: This place is easily commutable from Delhi as it is only 8 km away from South Delhi. So, you can go there by Delhi Metro or can take a cab.

Best time to visit: If you want to be stunned by the reason this place is so popular then go here between 1st Feb to 15th Feb.

Details: Surajkund is one of the ancient places that has been situated in India as it has a connection with history. Suraj Kund is an ancient reservoir made up by the Suraj Pal, a king of Tomar dynasty in 10th century. Suraj Kund literally means as the Lake of the Sun, as Suraj Pal is the worshipper of the Lord Sun that’s why he created this Kund along with a temple on its side.

This place is easily commutable from Delhi as it is only 8 km away from South Delhi and being an ideal place because it is a perfect spot for a picnic and for a day outing near Delhi. This place is highly pleasant to sit and spend some time here. It is difficult to find places like this in Delhi which is so busy in itself.

How to reach: It is 243 km away from Delhi which is like a 5-hour drive or you can go by train to Ramnagar railway station from there, Jim Corbett is like a 15 minutes drive so you can go by taxi.

Best time to visit: The ideal time to visit is between November to February because all the areas of the forests are open for tourists at this time.

Details: Jim Corbett National Park is one of the places that is ideal for planning a day outing near Delhi as it is 243 km away from Delhi which is like a 5-hour drive. Jim Corbett National Park is one of those National parks in India which admired most by the people. It is quite known for the motive of reserving the Tiger and it is the place from where the project Tiger originated. This place is protecting the National animal of India and the endangered species called Tiger.

Jim Corbett National Park is situated in Nainital district of the Uttarakhand state. The whole area of this national park is covered with greenery, huge forests, river belts, bridges and large lakes which makes it a great home for all the animals. It is not about the Jungle safari but also you can stay here in the Jungle and can camp here also.

How to reach: It is only 223 km away from Delhi which takes 4-5 hour by road. The nearest airport is Jaipur International Airport which is 182 km far from Bharatpur.

Best time to visit: August to February is the time to visit here because you can get the sight of Migratory birds also at this time.

Details: Bharatpur is 180 km away from Delhi and known as the “Eastern Gate of Rajasthan”. Rajasthan is always being the topmost choice for everyone if they are planning a one day trip from Delhi because there are many cities here that are so beautiful that a trip is a must to those places which are Jaipur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer and Ajmer. But if you only have one day then Bharatpur is the place you should go for a one-day outing from Delhi.

Keoladeo Ghana National Park (Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary) is one of the amazing places in Bharatpur to visit. This place consists of many different species of animals like 364 breeds of birds and 379 floral species which is mainly the main reason to come here. Many tourists are attracted to this place because of its pristine beauty.

Bharatpur is not a fancy place consisting of many clubs or great nightlife but it is quite renowned for palaces, temples and heritage as it has a huge impact on Indian history here. There are many other tourist spots other than national parks like Lohagarh Fort, Bharatpur Palace and Ganga Mandir.

How to reach: You can easily reach Murthal from Delhi, it is only 45 km away. You can drive there by vehicle or you can easily find a bus or cab to Murthal.

Best time to visit: You can go any time in the year but try to go there in the evening so that you can find the reason why it is so famous.

Details: Murthal is a small stoppage or a village in the Sonipat district of the Indian state, Haryana. This village serves as a prime location where everyone stops when they are going through this way for having some food. As this place is quite known for its delicious Parathas. This is the first place for every Delhiites if they want to go on a one day trip from Delhi.

There is a popular restaurant here named “Amrik Sukhdev” which is famous for its Sarson Da Saag and Makke di roti which is a special item in Punjabi cuisine.   1. Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary, Gurgaon

How to reach: This is about 50km far from Delhi which can be easily covered in a 1.5-hour drive by car.

Best time to visit: Between December to March is the perfect time to visit there and try to arrive here in the morning like at 8-10 AM so that you can see different birds here because of the Migration.

Details: Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary is one of the exquisite places to visit as a one-day trip from Delhi. It is located in the Sultanpur village in Gurgaon district of Haryana. This is about 50km far from Delhi which can be easily covered in a 1.5-hour drive. This bird sanctuary is so famous and a paradise for all bird lovers who want to hear the sounds of birds chirping and see the birds whenever they lift their heads up. The best time to visit here is in winter because then you’ll find many birds here because of the migration.

If you respect nature and don’t want to disturb the birds then a pair of good binoculars is a must to see the birds without even knowing that you are watching them. You can find birds swimming and flying here and there. Almost 90 species of migratory birds came here in winters in search of a place to survive. The government made many watch towers at a height so you can easily spot birds between the trees and forests.

Some resident birds are Red-vented Bulbul, common Spoonbill, rock Pigeon, laughing dove, white throat kingfisher and Indian roller.

How to reach: Kurukshetra is about 154 km away from Delhi which can be covered in 3 hours. There are many buses running on a daily basis to Kurukshetra so you can take them also.

Best time to visit: The ideal time is between September to March because the weather becomes great at this time of the year.

Details: Kurukshetra is a city that existed in the Indian state Haryana. This is one of the places that needs to be mentioned in this list and a flawless place for a one-day outing from Delhi. Kurukshetra is named after the Great king Kuru which is known as the ancestors of the Kauravas and Pandavas. It is said that the famous battle between the Kauravas and Pandavas takes place at this place and Bhagavad Gita depicted here firstly that’s why this place has its name written in the history.
