We are equally likely to visit sites in the mountains or along the shore. There is no denying that Hampi has a flavour all its own. A trip to Hampi is like taking a journey back in time to discover the real and fascinating history of South India. To have a real appreciation for the gorgeous architecture and extensive history of this little rural village, one must pay a visit to some of the amazing places to visit in Hampi.
This ancient village has done a wonderful job of preserving its heritage over the course of many years, and as a result, there are a number of temples and monuments to be discovered here. In addition to the historical sites that are located there, bouldering is another activity that is quite popular in Hampi.
The weather in Hampi is great throughout the year, making it an ideal location for outdoor activities like camping. Between the months of February and October, the climate in Hampi is perfect, and the possibilities for having fun during your trip there are virtually endless. Your senses are going to be indulged at this destination, regardless of whether you're more of a history buff or an explorer.
So the planning goes like, we will be leaving from Bangalore by 8:30 PM and making the 364 kilometers ride all the way to Hampi. (People are requested to have light dinner before departure). As soon as everybody has had a chance to finish cleaning up, we are going to make our way to the boulders. Bouldering is generally the first thing that comes to mind when people think about Hampi. "Bouldering" is the term used to describe ascending a vertical rock face using just one's own body weight. There is no reason to be terrified or anxious about the prospect of carrying it out. There will be a number of knowledgeable persons there who will be able to direct you around the rocks. Much though this will be really thrilling for the next two hours, we have to move on to something that is even more fascinating right now.
Mopeds are going to be made available for you to use in the event that you would like not to walk. After we have had lunch and had some time to rest and replenish our energy, we will proceed to Sanapur Lake. Cliff divers frequently visit this stunning body of water, which is really a reservoir for the Tungabadra River and is known for its scenic beauty. While you take in the breathtaking scenery, you may soothe your aching muscles in the refreshing water of the lake.
Anjaneya Hill: After we have finished our little rest, we will be prepared to continue on to Anjaneya Hill. It is said in legend that Lord Hanuman was born on top of this hill; hence, another name for it is Hanuman hill. It is possible to have a view over the entire city from the highest point of this hill, including the city's historic area as well as its island neighbourhood. Before heading back to the house for supper, we will return to this breathtaking knoll to watch the sun go down.
When everyone's energy levels have returned to normal, we are going to go for a late-night walk around the rocks. As a result of the warm glow that the bonfire will cast over this region, it will be the ideal location in which to unwind and take in the surroundings.
It is absolutely necessary for us to get up and begin moving at an ungodly hour in order to witness the gorgeous morning. When you reach the top of the Hemakunta hills, you will get a spectacular view of the way the yellow, orange, and blue hues interact with one another. On these hills, there are a great number of temples dedicated to Shiva. Get ready, all you people who like learning about different cultures; your time has finally arrived. You won't want to miss out on seeing the historic portion of Hampi, so get up early with us and join a ferry.
Virupaksha Temple: Our first stop will be to the Virupaksha temple, which is easily recognisable due to the three majestic gateway towers that stand at its entrance. Within this tranquil temple is a pavilion that honours Shiva, Pampa, and Bhuvaneshwari. This pavilion is located in the heart of the temple. The next part of our journey to the Vitthala temple will take us via the Mathanga Hills. This temple is home to the famous Stone Chariot, which is well-known throughout the state of Karnataka.
Coracle Ride: The morning will be spent discovering the interesting history of this city, and in the afternoon, we will have a coracle ride across the river to unwind after taking in so much information. Coracles are often made out of leather, plastic, and bitumen and are characterised by their diminutive size and low weight. These adorable rowboats are just what you need to peacefully float over the lake while soaking in the breathtakingly blue vistas that surround you.
Regrettably, we have no choice but to leave this location by the afternoon and travel back to Bangalore. Even though our time spent together has come to an end, the numerous memories that we have shared will be with us for the rest of our lives.
