Paula Dona This estuary, also known as the "lover paradise," has a tragic history involving an unrequited love storey between a Portuguese Viceroy's daughter and a Goan fisherman. Dona Paula, the Viceroy's daughter, gave up her life when he refused to accept the match. She jumped off the cliff into the Arabian Sea. As a result, the Viceroy decided to name the area Dona Paula as an eternal tribute. The two major rivers of Goa, the Mandovi and the Zuari, meet here at Dona Paula and flow into the Arabian Sea.
