Within the boundaries of the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary is the teeny-tiny hill station known as Chopta. It is surrounded on all sides by verdant fields and thick forests of the highest quality. Because of its location in the Himalayas at a height that is 2,680 metres above mean sea level, this is without a doubt one of the most stunning areas in all of Uttarakhand in which to establish a camping ground. Climbs to Chandrashila and Tungnath, which are respectively the highest Shiva temple and mountain in the world, begin at Chopta. Both of these destinations are in the Himalayas.
The majestic valleys and snow-covered peaks of Chopta, in addition to the tranquilly of its evergreen meadows, are well-known qualities of the region. Pine, deodar, and rhododendron woodlands in this region provide a great home for a broad assortment of species, including musk deer and uncommon birds like the Monal.
Day Zero transportation will be provided from Delhi to Chopta. Everyone should meet at the ISBT Kashmere gate, which is located next to the Akshardham Metro Station. This evening, at eight o'clock, we will start our journey to Chopta. We have dinner at a restaurant near to Modinagar before we go on to Rishikesh. This restaurant is on the way.
On day one, you will fly into Chopta and then start trekking to Tungnath. We arrived at Rishikesh at around four in the morning, and it is here that we will be spending the night. We start our trek across the steep terrain to Chopta around 5:00 in the morning. We take the path that leads from Kedarnath to Badrinath, which takes us via Srinagar, Rudraprayag, and Kund on the way. To go to Chopta from here will take you close to eight hours. Chopta is a tiny hill settlement that may be found along the path leading from Gopeshwar to Badrinath. This place, which is widely recognised as one of Uttarakhand's greatest camping spots, is characterised by its gorgeous surrounding meadows. This is a popular place to begin walks to adjacent locations like Tungnath and Chandrashila, among others.
After having lunch at Chopta, we continue on to Tungnath, which is the world's highest Shiva temple. Chopta is our lunch stop. From Chopta to Tungnath is a trek that is 3.5 kilometres long and takes place along a paved path. In most cases, the journey to the temple will take three hours. Once you get at the temple, explore it and then watch the sunset from there. You will be spent the night at Tungnath, and food will be provided for you there.
On the second day, after getting an early start in the morning, climb up to Chandrashila, then make your way down to Chopta and finally on to Delhi. Get up and ready for the day, as we will be leaving for Chandrashila at 5:00 a.m. The elevation on the trip from Tungnath to Chandrashila, which is just 1.5 kilometres long, is more difficult than the ascent on the walk from the day before. Getting to the top of Chandrashila takes around an hour if you climb there. When you get there, be sure to take in the stunning views of the Himalayan range, which include peaks such as Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba, Kedarnath, Trisul, Gangotri, and Shivling, amongst others. If all goes according to plan, we should be in Chopta about midday, having left at 8 in the morning. After we have finished our meal at Chopta, we are going to get back on the road and head to Delhi. Lastly, we will arrive at Delhi no later than 7 am the next day.
