Why to visit Scindia Ghat
Scindia Ghat, regarded as one of Varanasi's best ghats, is a significant Hindu pilgrimage site. This ghat is home to a Shiva temple that is partly submerged in the water and is close to Ghasi Tola.
This ghat is well-known for housing several significant places of worship. According to Hinduism, this is where the Hindu God Agni (the God of Fire) was born.
Things to do at Scindia Ghat:
The pyres used to burn the bodies of the deceased are what make the ghat famous. Those who are interested come early in the morning to meditate and have a wonderful time. Here, boating alongside the temple is a key activity.
History:
The Scindia Ghat was created by Baija Bai, who also built the colonnade of Gyan Bapi. The name comes from the Scindia woman who created the ghat. It was constructed in 1850.
Interesting Fact:
Near the ghat, in an alley known as Siddha Kshetra, are numerous temples. There are six of them, each with stone stairs. According to legend, those who worship in this ghat will be granted a son.
