Why to visit ISKCON Varanasi
This shrine, one of the top locations to visit in Varanasi, was built in 1966 as part of a network of Vaishnavite temples by the International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). This congregation is dedicated to the worship and propagation of the teachings of Lord Krishna as they are recorded in the Hindu epic Bhagwat Gita.
The idols of Lord Krishna and Sita are positioned in the middle and exquisitely decked with flowers, decorations, and fabrics. As hundreds of worshipers offer prayers to receive the blessings of their god, the hall is filled with the chants "Hare Rama Hare Krishna."
