This Buddhist building is known as Chaukhandi Stupa because of its square foundation and has been designated as a monument of national significance. This site is treasured by archaeologists, who have uncovered items from the time of the Gupta emperors.

  • It is a tall brick building with a square structure that is encircled by an octagonal tower.
  • Some Buddha sculptures and images, including the statue of the Lord Buddha in the Dharmachakra Pravartana Mudra, are thought to be valuable treasures from the Gupta era.
  • Ruins of centuries-old monasteries, which also contain verandas and courtyards, may also be seen next to this well-known Buddhist stupa in Sarnath.
