One of the ghats that is frequently visited for relaxation and during festivities is Assi Ghat. Around 300 people arrive in the mornings on average days, while 2,500 individuals do so on festival days. Hindus also think that Tulsidas left for his heavenly residence from Assi Ghat.

  • Holy Dip: Hindu worshippers also take a sacred bath in the Ganga at Assi Ghat. Dips in the river are thought to be cleansing for the soul.
  • Enchanting Evenings: The enormous concrete surface of the ghat comes alive in the evenings when a small fire ceremony attracts hawkers and performers. It also includes yoga at dawn and music. It's a well-liked place to launch boat cruises from.

Ganga Aarti in Assi Ghat

Every day between five and six in the morning, the Assi Ghat hosts the Subah Banaras morning Aarti. After the programme on Sunday morning, everyone is welcome to attend a free yoga class.

At 6:30 PM, the evening Ganga Aarti is conducted at the Ghat's two ends. The event is later followed by Deep Daan (the act of offering earthen lamps and flowers to the Ganga river). A big number of villagers and visitors attend the evening Aarti, in contrast to the morning Aarti.
