Why to visit Padmini Palace
The magnificent palace is a historical landmark connected to Rani Padmini's act of selflessness after Delhi Sultan Alauddin Khilji stormed Chittorgarh. The two-story monument is elevated on rocky ground and stands quite strongly in the heart of the Chittorgarh Fort. A lotus pool surrounds the fort, adding to the attraction's appeal. The pool, with its colourful lotuses portraying grace and beauty in the rocky Chittor Fort, makes one think of how magnificent this location must have been when the royal women utilised it. Visitors to Chittorgarh Fort should go to the Padmini Palace.
King Gandharvasen of Singhal's daughter and Rawal Ratan Singh's second bride, Rani Padmini, was born. Padmini captivated Rawal Ratan Singh when they first met while he was exploring Singhal. He had heard tales about her charm, beauty, and intelligence. As a result, he wed her and took her to Chittorgarh. She spent the remainder of her life living in the Padmini Palace.
Raghav Chetan, a singer, was supposedly exiled from the kingdom due to rumours that he was a sorcerer. Raghav Chetan, driven by a desire for vengeance, approached Alauddin Khilji and extolled her beauty to the point where Alauddin yearned to see her. Even Rawal Ratan Singh was duped by Khilji into seeing Rani Padmini, which the Rajputs detested but couldn't do much about. Rani Padmini consented to display her mirror image. However, Khilji was not content and intended to seize the fort and kidnap Rani Padmini.
In the centre of Chittorgarh Fort is the white, three-story edifice known as Padmini Palace. The architecture is straightforward but fascinating. The Lotus Pool, a pool of water that surrounds the palace, is its common name. The monument is encircled by a water moat in the palace. The building was constructed in the Persian architectural style and features a stone interior staircase, numerous windows, large rooms, and pavilions. A little room with a mirror on the wall is on the top floor. This is the space where Rani Padmini is thought to have shown Alauddin Khilji her reflection in a mirror.
