Why to visit Singapore Zoo

The Singapore Zoo, widely regarded as one of the best in the world, is located in the Upper Seletar Region and spans 70 acres. The lush tropical wonderland is home to nearly 3600 mammals, birds, and reptiles, and was previously known as the Singapore Zoological Garden or Mandai Zoo. It is known for being home to the world's largest captive Orangutan colony. The Rainforest Kidzworld, a technicolour play area for the small ones, is also a prominent highlight of this lushly manicured attraction.

The Singapore Zoo is the world's first 'open-concept' zoo, set in the beautiful green rainforests of Singapore. The zoo covers a total of 26 hectares and houses around 2,400 different species of animals. You will be astounded by this location's breeding programmes, which set it apart from all other zoos across the world. Since 34 percent of the species here are on the verge of extinction, this award-winning zoo has adopted many conservation steps to reduce species vulnerability. All of the animals live in a spacious setting, and you may do more than just admire the gorgeous species.

River Safari, Jurong Bird Park and Night Safari, and the Zoo are the four components of the park. They all have something special to offer. You may get up close and personal with the animals, and even dine right in the centre of the Zoo, overlooking the gorgeous waterways. You'll see Asian elephants, Binturong, Himalayan Thar, Mousedeer, Pelican, and a plethora of other birds and animals that will leave you speechless.

Special Tip

The zoo entrance charge is S$18.00 for adults and S$9.00 for children aged 3 to 12. People visiting with babies or young children can rent prams and wagons as the distance is a lot to cover inside the zoo.
