Why to visit Jurong Bird Park
You can get up and personal with some of Singapore's rarest and most beautiful feathered friends at Jurong Bird Park. This enormous park include the world's largest walk-in lory flight aviary, which stands over nine floors tall and houses close to 15 different lory species, as well as the spectacular Penguin Coast, which houses many different species of these flightless birds. There's also Flamingo Lake, which is home to hundreds of these strutting birds, and Pelican Cove, which is home to the world's largest collection of pelicans.
The other major attractions at the bird park, which opened in 1971 and is managed by the Wildlife Reserves Singapore. Jurong Bird Park, which spans 20.2 hectares and is tucked away in the western part of Singapore, is home to around 5000 birds representing 400 different species. It is also one of the best and must-see places to visit in Singapore.
To get to Jurong Bird Park, take the East-West MRT line going for Tuas Link, alight at Boon Lay (EW27), then change buses and take Bus No 194 from the Boon Lay bus interchange. To avoid the bother of bus transfer, take the Safari Gate bus directly to Jurong Bird Park to avoid the hassle of bus interchange. Suntec City is where the bus picks up and drops off passengers.
