Why to visit Clarke Quay

For most people, Clarke Quay is a location to visit to enjoy a meal at one of the many outstanding waterfront restaurants or simply take a leisurely stroll through the bright lanes that are brimming with colour and nighttime activity. Apart from the posh waterfront eateries, this beautiful quay is lined with boutique businesses, retail outlets, and shopping complexes. Don't forget that Clarke Quay is home to a number of shopping complexes, including Clarke Quay Central, Riverside Point, and Great World City.

Clarke Quay is directly near to the Singapore River, which you will notice right away. This river used to be the throbbing heart of the city, and it was this river that gave the quay its start. Bumboats anchored here, unloading their unusual items for trade and commerce all over the island. You can ride on the same bumboats that were used hundreds of years ago to explore this river and visit many of Singapore's monuments while experiencing the island the way those ancient tourists did.

Within walking distance are two of Singapore's most popular nightclubs, Zouk and Attica, which cater to individuals who prefer pounding dance beats and a wild, intoxicating atmosphere. F. Club is another prominent hip-hop and electronic music venue that's worth checking out only for the lavish interiors.

Special Tip

The optimum time to visit is from late afternoon to late at night. This is when the many warehouses and storage facilities that have been transformed into renowned clubs and restaurants of the past come into their own.
