Why to visit Buddha Tooth Relic Temple

The five-story temple is famous around the world for housing what is said to be Lord Buddha's left canine tooth, which was found from his cremation pyre in Kushinagar, India. This relic is placed in a 320 kilogramme solid gold stupa that gleams in a 4th-floor room. The main attraction of the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is its design and architecture, which has been meticulously researched to mimic the Tang Dynasty's architectural style as well as the Buddhist Mandala. The Eminent Sangha Museum, which is essentially a theatre that hosts religious discussions, cultural plays, and pertinent movies, is also located at the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple.

The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is a Chinese Buddhist temple located in Singapore's historic Chinatown area. On the third floor of this magnificent structure, the Buddhist Cultural Museum holds precious items of Lord Buddha, while the exquisite rooftop garden has the world's largest Buddhist prayer wheel, topped off with an elegant pagoda. Opt for the free guided tours to obtain a deeper grasp of Buddhist culture and to properly explore this majestic temple. This gorgeous temple of worship, hailed as one of the world's most photogenic sights, is a must-see in Singapore.

You can take the Buddha tooth relic temple MRT to Chinatown Station to get to this location, which is located in the city's heart. Then take Exit A to Pagoda Street and turn right to go to South Bridge Road.

Special Tip

Since this is a sacred site, it is necessary to dress appropriately. Off-the-shoulder tops, bare-back shorts, short skirts, and tank tops should all be avoided. Non-flash photography is also allowed in the Buddhist Culture and Eminent Sangha museums.
