The sanctuary is well known for offering some of the best animal sights, both of common and unusual species, but it is also a significant water resource for the city. A century-old water harvesting system uses gravity to supply water to Shimla town.

The God Ki Nala and Churat Nala are two of the sanctuary's nine perennial streams, and they are also its most significant ones. Through a woodland corridor, this sanctuary is also connected to the Chail Sanctuary.

  • In addition to hiking, the catchment region provides adventurers with a wonderful day walk into the forests. There is a cap on the number of visitors, thus tickets must be obtained at the gate in order to enter the sanctuary.
  • The trail begins at the water catchment sanctuary's entrance gate and leads to a lovely rest home in Seog after a 7-kilometer hike.
  • Visitors can also obtain the authorization necessary to spend the entire day in the Forest Rest House in Seog.
  • There are numerous streams of water along the road, and the lovely wooden cabins constructed inside the catchment area provide breathtaking views of the forested valley and lush woodland.

Bicycles are offered for rent at this cottage at a low rate. Visitors can also get the authorization necessary to spend the entire day in the Forest Rest House in Seog.
