Why to visit Lady Hydari Park
The famed Lady Hydari Park, named after the first lady of the state and wife of the Governor of Assam, is conveniently located in Shillong's Laban neighbourhood. When you see round-shaped hedges, willow trees with leaves reaching the ground, and a smattering of little ponds, the feelings grow even stronger. There is also a little lake where ducks and colourful fish may be found. Tourists go to the lovely Lady Hydari park in the evenings to wander along the paved paths, exploring and appreciating the well-kept lawns with an enticing variety of orchids and rhododendrons. During the winter, visitors can come to the park in the afternoon and rest on the grass. It's a great location to take the kids because there's a fun play area for them.
