Why to visit Alcatraz Island
It does have a very interesting and significant history related to it. In 1861 the island was designated a residence for military offenders. Island is full of iconic spots to visit which include Landmarks on the island's Main Cellhouse, Dining Hall, Lighthouse, the ruins of the Warden's House and Social Hall, Parade Grounds, Building 64, Water Tower, Model Industries Building, and the Recreation Yard. It was featured in the movie. The Escape from Alcatraz (1979).
