Why to visit Jaigad Lighthouse
The Jaigad Lighthouse, located in one of the Jaigad Fort's western bastions, is a historic engineering masterpiece and a must-see among Ganpatipule's top tourist attractions.
The British constructed the Jaigad Lighthouse in 1932. The lighthouse in Jaigad is one of a kind because it is entirely composed of cast iron. The fort, particularly the lighthouse, provides a superb view of the ships cruising in the tranquil and lovely Arabian Sea. The fort of Jaigad is located near the settlement of Jaigad, and cars can access the fort's main entrance through a tar road.
It appears to be made of brick and concrete, but it is actually composed of cast iron and steel. It's worth looking at the casting and rivets. A jetty port is close, and the lighthouse, which has recently been upgraded with LED lights, protects ships travelling between Ratnagiri and Dabhol. It's a quiet, serene area where the strong sea breeze caresses your face, revitalising you.
