There are a various legends about how Sakshigopal Temple got to be a beloved sanctuary for Lord Vishnu. The lord comes to watch a rural wedding in one of the stories. Another legend claims that the temple is one of the 16 temples established for Lord Krishna by King Vajra, Lord Krishna's grandson.
