Why to visit Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
On the town's south avenue, 2.5 kilometres from the Pondicherry Bus Station, is the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This church was built by French missionaries in 1908 and was given the status of Basilica in 2011. It is one of India's 21 Basilicas and the only one in Pondicherry. Thousands of people visit the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in order to find peacefulness.New Year's Eve, Christmas Eve, and Easter Day are all lavishly celebrated in this church.

Summertime, from April to June, is not the best time to come because the weather remains hot.
