Why to visit Arikamedu

It was named after the Tamil word 'Arikanmedu,' which meaning 'eroding mount.' Little is known about Indo-Roman ties in the pre-Christian era, but the discovery and excavation of Arikamedu yielded numerous proofs. From the 1st century BC until the 2nd century AD, this port town was held by Romans, Cholas, and French, and it was a well-known nautical centre. Arikamedu's glass bead manufacturing factory is known as the "Mother of All Bead Centers" in the globe.

Special Tip
