Why to visit Bois de Vincennes
The park, in addition to being historically significant, has a variety of natural gifts. Parisians and visitors come here to walk miles of forested walks, paddle or row on man-made lakes, listen to summer jazz performances in the open air, or have a peaceful picnic on the sprawling lawns. The Bois is almost three times the size of Central Park in New York, and it is an important green space in a metropolis that appears to be lacking in green space in some regions.
The park features four gorgeous lakes as well as a maintained English garden with characteristic flowers. A zoo, a bicycle track, a horse-racing track, an arboretum, and a botanical garden are also located in the park. This is how the park unites a variety of man-made and natural attractions under one roof.
To get to the Charenton Ecoles subway station or the Château de Vincennes subway station, use the metro from anywhere in the city. Both of these stations are a short walk from the park.
