Why to visit Pothundi Dam
One of the oldest dams in India is the Pothundi dam, which was built in the 19th century. A whole of 50,914,000 metre cubes may be stored in this irrigation dam, which can irrigate 13,500 acres. The dam is noteworthy in that the core wall was constructed using a mixture of quicklime and jaggery.
While travelling to Nelliyampathy Hills, pass via the dam. At the entrance, a stunningly planted and well-kept dam garden welcomes guests. The garden is designed to bring joy to both young and old, with a variety of rides and well-kept trees and plants.
Enter to the garden if you are in the mood for some adventure. Tourists to the preserved garden are likely to experience an adrenaline thrill on the sky cycle and polaris rides. The garden also has a shooting range, a quad riding course, an open gym, a 1.4-kilometer promenade, and an outdoor stage that can hold 4,000 people.
