Why to visit Malampuzha Dam
Malampuzha Dam, one of Kerala's largest dams, is situated near Palakkad in South India. The Western Ghats encircle it on all sides. Malampuzha Dam is a brick and earthen dam with a combined length of 1,849 metres and a height of 220 metres. The dam is 355 feet high and spans the Malampuzha River, a branch of Kerala's second largest river, the Bharathappuzha. The dam includes several adjacent attractions such as a rock garden, ropeway, and amusement park, and people frequently enjoy boating here.
Entrance Garden, Japanese Garden, Upper Garden and viewpoint, Fantasy Park, Cable car ride, Fish shaped aquarium, Yakshi Garden, Toy train for kids, Spiced fruits camp, and some good trekking routes and river baths are some of the prominent tourist sites around Malampuzha Dam. The ropeway, which takes visitors on an aerial view of the park, as well as the massive Yakshi (an enchantress) moulded by Kanai Kunhiraman, a well-known artist from Kerala, draw a large number of visitors.
About Malampuzha Dam Ropeway—
The Malampuzha Gardens ropeway is a great way to get a bird's eye view of the entire area. It runs parallel to the dam and provides a thrilling ride lasting between two and two minutes. It is a one-of-a-kind ropeway in South India and a major tourist attraction. It stretches over 2000 feet and is 60 feet above the earth. There are around 64 rope cars here, each with a capacity of two people.
