Why to visit Ooty Rose Garden, Ooty

Another popular attraction in Ooty is the Rose Garden. This garden, which is maintained by the Tamil Nadu government, is stretched over 4 hectares of land and proudly displays more than 20,000 different varieties of roses.

It is a well-kept garden that has won the World Federation of Rose Societies' Garden of Excellence Award for South Asia. Roses' unrivalled beauty makes for a stunning visual treat and a great setting for photography

The flowers can enjoy an extended flowering season because of the cold weather and adequate monsoon. Every year, thousands of tourists go to the Rose Garden. It was originally started to mark the Botanical Gardens' centenary Flower Show, and is now one of the "must see" places in Ooty.

Between March and June, when the roses are in full bloom, is the finest time to visit the Ooty Rose Garden. Around the same time in May, the Flower Show takes place. Those who want to avoid the summer throng can visit the rose garden between November and February, although they may only discover a few roses because it is not their blooming season..
