Why to visit Hornbill Festival
Nagaland is regarded as the 'Land of Festivals,' and one such spectacular fiesta is the 'Hornbill Festival,' which is hosted by the State Tourism of Arts and Culture Department, Government of Nagaland. This is also referred to as the "Festival of Festivals," as it is a customary gathering of all 17 Naga tribes to encourage intercultural peace. It has few dull times and offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to learn about primitive tribal lives through the investigation of tribal hut structures dating back to primaeval lifestyles, as well as other items such as drums, gongs, costumes, and wooden carvings.
There are multi-colored spears and Daos with dyed goat's hair, in contrast to their customary ceremonial dress, which varies by tribe. Exotic headgears and ivory armlets are two additional prominent Naga traditional items that steal the stage. Previously, combatants had to prove their bravery by wearing these.
