5 kilometres separate George Everest from Mussoorie. There won't be much regular public transportation, so it would be best if you could hire a rental taxi or rented a scooter or bike from Mussoorie. First, you can use public transportation to travel to Mussoorie. i.e., a bus from Dehradun Hill Bus Station, which is close to the Dehradun Railway Station. Dehradun is 41 kilometres from George Everest. Dehradun Railway Station is the closest railway station (41 km) and Jollygrant Airport is the closest airport 965 km)to George Everest House.

When is the best time to visit George Everest Peak?

The months of September to early November and March through May are the ideal times to trek to the George Everest Peak. The hike path becomes impassable during peak winters and monsoons due to snowfall.

On the route from Library Chowk to George Everest House, there are numerous food stands. But remember to bring your own tiffin box and mug, and refrain from using any disposable items while hiking. On the hike, there are no natural water sources. A minimum of 2 litres of water per person should be brought. You can ask for a refill of water in one of the stalls if you run out.
