Why to visit Thechwani in Hills-E-Ishq Cafe

Mussoorie also has a flavour of Uttarakhand indigenous cuisine, namely thechwani. It's made by crushing boiling potatoes or radish roots with a hint of ginger and garlic and a generous amount of coriander leaves on top. Because kumaoni people live in Mussoorie, this is the local cuisine.

Thechwani is a traditional Garhwali dish eaten by residents of Uttrakhand's Garhwal region. Apart from potato, additional vegetables of one's choice can be included; it is entirely up to the individual's liking. This vegetarian cuisine is high in protein and iron, so it's good for your health.

Special Tip

It tastes best when served with rice or chapatis.
