Why to visit Shri Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple

Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha are both worshipped at the Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple. The temple is almost 800 years old and has always been an integral part of Mangalore's religious belief system. Sharavu is derived from the word 'Shara,' which means arrow, and it has a fascinating legend associated with it.

The temple grounds are well-kept and tidy, creating a welcome and quiet environment for worshippers to visit and offer their prayers. Lord Ganesha is credited with relieving his worshippers of their problems and sufferings.

Before launching each enterprise, no matter how modest, he is also offered prayers, and as a result, the temple receives a large number of visitors practically every day.

Daily prayers are attended with tremendous zeal and dedication. Almost every devotee visits the temple for the aartis and palkhis. Traditional instrumental music is played during the ceremony, which is followed by chanting.
