Why to visit Agani Peak

The Agani Peak in Agni Gudda, also known as the 'fiery mountain' due to its volcanic nature, is a moderate three-kilometer hike from Agani village that takes about an hour. From the summit, you can see green pasture lands and plains filled with paddy fields. At the peak, you can pitch your tent and camp overnight to enjoy the wonderful starlit sky.

Trekking and camping are popular activities in this area. If you just want to relax, bring a picnic and enjoy the beauty of the rice fields that surround the area. Agni Gudda, about 25 kilometres from Sakleshpur's bus station, is best visited between October and March, and the trek takes around 4 hours to ascent and descend. Various south Indian movie scenes are shot here, and half-day picnics are popular.
